Best Practices EXPO & Conference, taking place October 13-16 at the Nashville Music City Center in Tennessee, will feature a four-track educational program focused on improving plant profitability through industrial utility optimization.
“Best Practices will bring together technology and system assessment experts with manufacturing/process industry leaders to advise them on how to adopt energy and water conservation measures,” said Rod Smith, Publisher, Smith Onandia Communications and producer of Best Practices Expo & Conference. “We know that this year’s dynamic range of speakers will provide valuable insight about optimization of compressed air, blower, vacuum, pneumatics, motors, steam, and cooling systems,” added Smith.
Track 1-Quality & Safety Management
How to create compressed air quality specifications and verify compliance using ISO 8573.1 Quality Classes to ensure dry and oil-free compressed air. Operator safety assurance in pneumatic circuits on production equipment. Legionella and cooling water safety. How to safely hook-up power measurement equipment to motor-driven air compressors, blowers and vacuum pumps. Demand-side projects, like blow-off air, which will improve production output while reducing energy consumption.
Track 2-Facility Maintenance & Reliability
Assigning compressed air leak management to the maintenance team. How to “maintain the gain” by creating a long-term leak-management program. How to best identify, measure/quantify and repair leaks. Air compressor/blower/vacuum pump lubrication best practices. Balancing reliability with energy efficiency. How to measure and monitor intake air and cooling water temperatures to protect rotating equipment performance and durability.
Track 3-Energy Conservation / IoT Monitoring - Simultaneous Translation to Spanish.
How to assess and design your compressed air, blower and vacuum systems for high-ROI energy and carbon conservation. When and when not to use variable speed drives. Can your plant run at 80 psig? Learn how to challenge pressure and flow specifications. Learn kW, flow, pressure and dew point measurement techniques and integrate with IoT to create and manage to Key Performance Indicators.
Track 4-Water Conservation / Energy Management
How to reduce cooling water consumption. How can one reduce the use of chemicals in water treatment? Challenge the need for water-cooled air compressors and liquid ring vacuum pumps. Learn to measure cooling water and reducing cooling water treatment costs. How to create and execute an Energy Management program into your business.
