BAC Opens First Latin American Manufacturing Plant in Monterrey, Mexico

Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) announced the grand opening of its manufacturing facility in Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León, Mexico, the company’s first production plant in Latin America. The new facility strengthens the company’s regional manufacturing footprint and expands support for customers across Latin America.

 

BAC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the grand opening of its first Latin American manufacturing facility in Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León, Mexico.
 

The ceremony brought together government officials, community leaders, company leadership, employees, customers and partners to celebrate the milestone. Attendees included Betsabe Rocha Nieto, Secretaria de Economía, and Miguel Ángel Quiroga Treviño, Mayor of Ciénega de Flores, along with representatives from Amsted Industries, BAC’s parent company, including Stephen Smith, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer; Wayne Luce, Vice President – People, and Chris Meyers, Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer.

“The Monterrey plant represents an important milestone for BAC as our first manufacturing facility in Latin America and a key center for driving regional growth,” said José Fernandes, Managing Director for the Americas, BAC. “This facility strengthens our ability to better serve our Latin American customers with enhanced manufacturing, logistics and distribution capabilities.”

Luke Rubino, Global Vice President and Head of the Americas, BAC, spoke to the broader significance of the investment and the company’s growth across the region. “Across the Americas, we are seeing tremendous growth,” said Rubino. “Driven by urbanization, infrastructure investment, industrial expansion and an increasing focus on sustainability, demand for a partner with technical expertise, high-performing products and reliable operational performance is growing across every market we serve. Strategically located in Ciénega de Flores, the facility offers access to major logistics corridors, strong industrial infrastructure and close integration with the region’s manufacturing ecosystem. The site will serve as a distribution and manufacturing center designed to support evolving customer needs across Latin America.

The opening is part of the company’s broader global investment initiative focused on expanding world-class manufacturing capabilities. Since 2019, the company has invested significantly in new facilities and operations worldwide. “We have invested more in the last six years than in the previous two decades combined,” said Donald Fetzer, President, BAC. “This facility reflects our long-term commitment to innovation, operational excellence and supporting our customers throughout the region.”
