With the goal of strengthening supply chains and shortening delivery times to North American customers, Danfoss Climate Solutions is continuing to invest in regional production. The company launched a new production line at its factory in Monterrey, Mexico, to assemble oil-free check (OFC) valves, used in conjunction with Danfoss Turbocor® oil-free refrigerant compressors. This is another step toward regionalizing supply chains, a key goal in the coming years.
Danfoss has launched a production line in its Monterrey, Mexico, factory to assemble OFC valves, bringing production closer to its North American customers.
Since the opening of the expanded Monterrey factory a year ago, the company has taken advantage of the doubled capacity to launch production of high-demand products such as scroll refrigerant compressors, BOCK® compressors, sensors and microchannel heat exchangers. As a result, the company is able to meet increased demand and support its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers in strengthening their supply chains.
Assembling the OFC valves in North America will increase supply chain resiliency for North American OEM customers using Turbocor refrigerant compressors in their chillers and heat pumps. Customers can expect the same high level of quality, coupled with reduced lead times and gradual USMCA approval. Following the 2025 extension of the product range, production will include many new models to fit customers’ different application requirements. Ultimately, 12 models will be produced in Monterrey, available in 3 1/8’ and 4 1/8’ steel or solder flange options, with or without ball valves, in regular or compact sizes.
The demand for oil-free solutions has increased in recent years, particularly in the data center industry, as customers seek to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. By eliminating oil in their design, Turbocor refrigerant compressors provide a low-carbon and exceptionally reliable cooling option for commercial air conditioning and heat pump applications, enabling commercial buildings such as office buildings, hotels, hospitals, airports and data centers to meet decarbonization and energy efficiency goals. The OFC valve, which includes both a ball valve-style shut-off and a check valve, enhances the performance of Turbocor-based applications by reducing discharge pressure drop while increasing capacity and efficiency. Additional features include an integrated stop function, damped check valve function, integrated diffuser elbow and integrated staging port.
