Landover Cooling Tower Service Expands into Northern Virginia

09/02/2026

Landover Cooling Tower Service announced the opening of a new office in Sterling, VA, to support its expansion into Northern Virginia. The company also named Omar McKee General Manager to help drive sales strategy in the market. The moves mark a significant milestone in the company's continued growth across the Mid-Atlantic region, positioning it to better serve one of the country's fastest-growing data center and commercial infrastructure markets and help current clients and prospective customers meet regional demand.

Founded in 1990 and based in Mountainside, NJ, Landover is a trusted, factory-authorized service provider specializing in aftermarket cooling tower replacements, repair and maintenance, as well as heat exchangers, coil cleanings and filtration. In addition to the data center market, where the company serves several notable operators, it brings deep experience across a range of end markets, ranging from healthcare, pharma and life sciences to higher education, commercial real estate and municipalities. The company’s technicians are factory certified and authorized by three of the largest cooling tower original equipment manufacturers.

“Our reputation revolves around a 35-year track record of delivering high-quality, reliable service to our customers, which has made us a partner of choice to protect and maintain mission-critical mechanical assets,” said John Slifer, Founder, Landover. “Expanding into Northern Virginia represents a logical greenfield opportunity given the growth of our clients in the region, and Omar's depth of experience equips Landover with the right thought partner to help our customers capitalize on the opportunity set.”

McKee brings extensive experience working with data centers and will play a key role in building out the company’s data center relationships in Northern Virginia. He joins from Vertiv, where he spent nearly 12 years, most recently as General Manager since 2021, overseeing sales throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., North Carolina and South Carolina. Previously in his career, he held sales, marketing and product leadership roles at Emerson Network Power supporting the data center infrastructure industry.

Landover serves over 1,500 clients across data center, pharmaceutical, healthcare and other commercial markets – and has distinguished itself as a transparent and responsive partner whose mission is to keep critical cooling infrastructure operating at peak efficiency. In the data center segment, in particular, the company brings considerable experience from installation to lifecycle maintenance across a range of environments, including hyperscale and co-location facilities, enterprise data centers and smaller facilities.

“Landover Cooling Tower Service has become an important part of the overall operation of the cooling towers for Digital Realty here at the Reston, VA, facility,” said Don Huff, Essential Infrastructure Manager, Digital Realty. “As a factory-trained and supported company for our brand of cooling towers, Landover Cooling Tower Service has diagnosed and repaired our equipment quickly and professionally. As a preferred vendor to Digital Realty, Landover Cooling Tower Service has performed more like a partner, sharing the same goals for the success of the data center market.”

Northern Virginia is among the largest data center markets in the world. The region's growing base of healthcare, life sciences and government facilities depends on cooling systems where uptime is non-negotiable. With McKee joining the Sterling office, Landover is positioned to support this growth, extending its footprint across the East Coast from Connecticut to Virginia.
