Attendees of the Best Practices EXPO & Conference can kick off the 2026 event with a guided tour of SMC’s North American headquarters in Noblesville, IN, on Monday, Oct. 12.

The walking tour will take attendees through SMC’s state of the art facility, including the distribution center featuring the AutoStore Warehouse System, as well as the manufacturing and assembly areas where many of the products support customers worldwide. This modern complex totals more than 2.6 million square feet and supports the company’s growth toward more than $1 billion in sales across the U.S. and Canada. It also reflects SMC’s 4BAR factory concept.
“4BAR factory is a new SMC concept that can significantly lower CO2 emissions and power consumption by reducing the pressure of compressed air used in factories to 4 bar, or approximately 60 psig,” said Jon Jensen, National Product Sales Manager – Energy & Safety, SMC.
Highlights of the facility include:
- Engineering R&D with over 78,000 square feet of labs
- Distribution center with more than $300 million in inventory, AutoStore and automated packaging assembly/shipment
- Production assembly with a new 25,000-square-foot, ISO 5 clean room and chiller production
- Production machining with over 300 machines and cobot‑assisted operations
Transportation
The facility is located at 10100 SMC Blvd, Noblesville, IN 46060. Complimentary buses will depart the Indiana Convention Center, across from the Westin Hotel, at 1 p.m. The tour will run from 1:30 to 3 p.m., with buses returning at 3:30 p.m.
SMC is sponsoring the Compressed Air Treasure Hunt Workshop at the Best Practices EXPO & Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 8 to 11 a.m. This workshop will provide five demand-side Treasure Hunt projects focused on reducing flow and pressure to uncover energy savings opportunities. Participants will get hands-on experience with fully operational table-top compressed air labs with pneumatic circuits and experiment with how the projects affect flow and pressure, as well as view demonstrations of new technologies.
